Cry proteins are novel proteins that are produced as crystalline inclusions in the bacteria Bacillus thuringensis. While best known for their role as biological insecticides used in GM crops, we have discovered that they can also be used to deliver therapeutic proteins to cells and animals. This project will describe our use of one such Cry protein, Cry3Aa, as a protein delivery platform for different proteins and cellular targets. -Dr. Michael Kenneth Chan
