宿主與微生物的相互作用

以人類腸道中的微生物群為例,微生物和宿主生物體之間的相互作用不但影響健康,也可以導致對社會產生嚴重衝擊的疾病(例如,COVID-19)。本所研究人員探究微生物和宿主相互作用中蛋白質之間以及醣類和蛋白質之間的相互作用。我們亦研究微生物的重要酵素或蛋白,並從自然界和通過化學合成找出具有治療潛力的抑制劑或可作為生物探針的新化合物。在其他著重的領域中,我們亦致力於開發新的疫苗和診斷方法。
