研究領域與專長

Manager of synthesis core facility (SCF), supporting users as follows:

  • Various synthesized biomolecules as research stuffs, for example:
    Functional peptides;
    Enzyme/lectin inhibitors;
    Oligonucleotides and their bioconjugates;
    Glycan related to viral/bacterial infections;
    Tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs);
    Probes of metabolites in natural products biosynthesis;
    Tools to study targets of interest in chemistry and biology;
    Other tailor-made synthesized molecules.
  • High-end and well-maintained instruments including:
    HPLC (Waters e2695, on-line reservation);
    HPLC (Schimadzu Prominence-I LC-2030C 3D Plus, on-line reservation);
    Polarimeter (JASCO P-2000, Na light source (589 nm) with temperature-controlled chip module, on-line reservation).

Organic synthesis:

Synthesis of natural product or bacterial metabolites; strategy development to label intermediate of interest; design and synthesis of wash-free fluorescent probe; synthesis and purification of oligonucleotide-peptide conjugates (OPC) with varied linkers.

Carbohydrate chemistry:

Synthesis and characterization of well-patterned sulfated sugars; Immobilization and NMR characterization of well-defined sulfated glycans on polyacrylic acid (PAA); Structure-guided synthesis of galectin inhibitors; Incorporation of BODIPY to thiodigalactoside as the fluorescent polarization (FP) probe for galectin binding assay: a better probe with bio-compatible, lifetime, stability and could be applied for cell-based experiments.

Laboratory design:

This is more like personal interest and I have managed labs for two PIs and involved in design and renovation of three labs.
