徐尚德博士為結構生物學家,致力於闡明蛋白質翻譯後修飾(PTMs)如何調控其結構、動態與功能。他的研究團隊結合高解析核磁共振光譜、冷凍電子顯微鏡與質譜分析,並運用人工智慧輔助建模,解析如醣基化與泛素化等修飾對蛋白質行為的分子調控機制。徐尚德實驗室著重於蛋白質結構與活性關聯的功能註解,並開發創新的分析與計算流程,以定量解析複雜蛋白質系統的構形與組成異質性。此跨領域研究結合化學、結構生物學與資料科學,建立理解翻譯後修飾如何協調細胞訊息傳遞與蛋白穩態的新框架,為分子調控機制與精準治療設計奠定基礎。
