Research

Glycobiology and Immunology

My role at IBC is to manage the Glycobiology Core Facility (GCF), which supports PIs to conduct glycobiology research by application of the existing technologies, reagents and tools. My expertise also helps facilitate multi-disciplinary collaborations with the initial focus on galectins. The future direction of GCF will be guided by the research projects of IBC PIs. To further promote the utilization of this core, more advanced technologies and platforms will be established per request by PIs.

The Galectin Core Facility is dedicated to services involving:
– Production of glycan-binding proteins (GBPs) and their antibodies; Production and maintenance GBP- and glycan-engineered mammalian cell lines.
– Establishment of analytical platform, using GBPs as glycan sensors (intra- and extra-cellular) and applying GBP engineered reporter cells and GBP array; performance of time-lapse live cell imaging and biochemical analysis of cell signaling.

Metagenomic Data analysis

My personal research interest is to perform microbiome metadata analysis and data visualization. Collaborations with IBC PIs in this emerging research field is also highly welcomed.
